Purchasing Officer

This company is renowned for engineering excellence and providing high performance sealing solutions for a range of hydraulic and pneumatic applications. It is a global company with a commitment to growth in Australia, which has resulted in the establishment of a new distribution centre in the Parramatta/North-West logistics hub, necessitating the appointment of a highly efficient Purchasing Officer.
Following a recent acquisition, you will initially focus on the amalgamation of two separate product and supplier databases using your advanced Excel skills and ERP systems knowledge. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will assist with resolving any operational problems between suppliers and production; and vendor management to support cost targets, continuity of supply, capacity flexibility, and supplier performance that in turn support manufacturing and customer requirements.
With a minimum of 2-3 years purchasing experience within a spare parts/engineering enviroment, you have advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems. Described as a self-starter with excellent organisational and time management skills, you have a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a natural inclination to consult and listen, and above all to persevere. Your strengths lie in planning, coordinating, analysis, customer service, communication and relationship building. You also have an ability to think strategically.
